The Raymond Central Mustangs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Louisville Lions on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 55-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Raymond Central in their matchups with Louisville: they've now lost five in a row.
Louisville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jase Ostblom, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Powles, who scored 11 points.
Raymond Central's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Louisville, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
Raymond Central will take on Conestoga at TBD on January 30th. Conestoga presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Raymond Central in Nebraska (Conestoga is ranked 47th, while Raymond Central is ranked 245th). Louisville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yutan at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Yutan is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
