Salem Academy made easy work of Corbett on Friday and carried off a 36-8 win. Salem Academy were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The victory bumped Salem Academy's record up to 2-4. The defeat dropped Corbett's record to 1-5.
Salem Academy will look to defend their home turf next week against Blanchet Catholic at 7:00 PM. Blanchet Catholic are limping into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Corbett, they will face off against Yamhill-Carlton. Neither Corbett nor Yamhill-Carlton could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
