The Sneads Pirates will square off against the Cottondale Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sneads is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Malone by a score of 8-3. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Naryah Dudley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reagan Tyus, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skyleigh O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Sneads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Cottondale came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Atomics a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Cottondale let Kendall Benefield and Aspen Odom run wild. Benefield went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Odom went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. Halle Riley was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Cottondale's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Sneads, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Sneads might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Cottondale when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
