Valeria Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Valeria Hinajosa also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Ontario Christian won against Woodcrest Christian on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Knights were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Royals. Considering the Knights have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ontario Christian got a massive performance out of Hannah Demoff, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Demoff has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alyse Campos, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Ontario Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Ontario Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Duarte, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Duarte hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .428. However, it's not like Ontario Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
