Softball Recap: Jefferson's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Jefferson had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering the Jaguars have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will head out to square off against Academy of Holy Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they will venture away from home to challenge New Prague at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
