Arapahoe is 2-8 against Alma since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Arapahoe Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Alma Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
Last Friday, Arapahoe came up short against Bertrand and fell 47-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arapahoe in their matchups with Bertrand: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Arapahoe saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kade Fisher, who scored 19 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Trenton Roskop, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Alma pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Cambridge by a score of 57-55.
The losing side was boosted by Tucker Biskup, who scored 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Titus Epp was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Arapahoe now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Alma, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Arapahoe have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Alma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Arapahoe came up short against Alma in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 54-41. Can Arapahoe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
