Oblong lost against Mt. Carmel on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Panthers fell  2-0 to the Golden Aces.
 While Oblong ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19,  25-18.
 Macy Krick paced Oblong's offense, picking up six kills. Krick got some help from  Ella Jenkins and her six assists.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Carmel to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Mattie Armstrong, who  had seven  digs and seven  assists.
Oblong's defeat  ended  a  ten-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 4-3. As for Mt. Carmel, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.
 Looking ahead, Oblong will square off against Red Hill at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. This will  be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Mt. Carmel, they will take on St. Anthony in a tournament  on Saturday.
