J.R. Tucker put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Colonial Heights Colonials by a score of 64-53. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Colonials are ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Za'Marion Mason and Cameron Hartsoe certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Mason went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Hartsoe went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The contest was Hartsoe's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bret Lipscomb, who posted six points.

J.R. Tucker pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Colonial Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

J.R. Tucker will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Patrick Henry at 5:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Colonial Heights and Grace Christian School will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th.
