Baseball Recap: Chinle Finds Home Field Redemption Against Miyamura

There's no place like home for Chinle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Miyamura Patriots on Saturday.

Hage Tsosie was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Chinle is undefeated when Tsosie posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennon Sorrell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Chinle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miyamura only posted an OBP of .378.

Chinle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Miyamura, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Chinle has already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Monument Valley on the 7th. As for Miyamura, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Kirtland Central on the 8th.
