The Forrest County Agricultural Aggies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Purvis. If Forrest County Agricultural hoped to take revenge for the 38-37 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Purvis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breleigh Adkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Zoey Robinson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Forrest County Agricultural's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Purvis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest County Agricultural's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sumrall at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Purvis won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Columbia will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
