Yreka is 2-8 against West Valley since May of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Miners will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Yreka has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Yreka couldn't beat Lassen on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the seventh inning. The Miners fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 11-10.

Trinity Spencer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaelynn DeBortoli made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Hadley Shaw, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, West Valley had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Panthers. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 20, 2023.
Madison Pemberton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Addy Taylor was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
West Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive games.
West Valley's victory bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Yreka, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Yreka hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like West Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
