The Springwood Wildcats have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 37-36 to Lee-Scott Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Springwood of the 62-42 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Lee-Scott Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Davis out in front who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarke Ivatt, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Springwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Glenwood the next time they take the court. Springwood will host Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lee-Scott Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
