The Lewisville Lions had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They snuck past McBee with a 41-36 victory. For Lewisville, this counts as revenge for the 40-36 defeat the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Murrell is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Wallace, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lewisville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for McBee, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Lewisville will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McBee will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
