Gatlinburg-Pittman put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 43-12 margin over Trinity Academy. Gatlinburg-Pittman have a history of success against Trinity Academy, winning their last head-to-head 47-13.
The game started off well for Gatlinburg-Pittman, whose offense put up 29 first-half points. Trinity Academy came up with 12 to make it 29-12 heading into the break. The Gatlinburg-Pittman defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The match brought Gatlinburg-Pittman to 5-1 and dropped Trinity Academy to a mirror-image 1-5.
Gatlinburg-Pittman will stay at home next week against Pigeon Forge at 7:30 PM. Pigeon Forge took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse Gatlinburg-Pittman's good fortune. Trinity Academy will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against SC Titans in two weeks at 3:00 PM. Both teams have had a rocky road up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.
