Mukwonago hasn't had much luck against Arrowhead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will head out to square off against the Warhawks at 4:30 p.m. Mukwonago is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Mukwonago got the win against Waukesha South by a conclusive 16-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Amelia Motl made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Mukwonago got a massive performance out of Taylor Hingiss, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Hingiss has posted since back in April. Jordan Chatham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Mukwonago always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waukesha South only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Arrowhead faced Oak Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warhawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warhawks have posted since May 5th.
Arrowhead's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Mukwonago, their record now sits at 9-6.
Mukwonago was able to grind out a solid victory over Arrowhead in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
