Helix (La Mesa, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, Calif.), 48-21, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Michael Adkins touchdown run in the first quarter, the Highlanders led 28-7 at the half.
Helix expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Josh Harris to
Kendal Keys.
With the win the La Mesa school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Highlanders defeated the Cougars 46-10 last week.
Adkins stood out for Helix in the win. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.
The Cougars'
Lawrence Dickens played well. He ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
HHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 49-7.
The loss comes after Steele Canyon defeated San Marcos 17-6 last week.
