The John Glenn Knights had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down Mount Sinai 69-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as John Glenn also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Despite the loss, Mount Sinai still got an impressive performance from Dominic Pennzello, who scored 20 points along with six steals. The game was Pennzello's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Chandrika, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
John Glenn's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Mount Sinai, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
John Glenn will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mount Sinai at 6:45 p.m. on February 7th. As for Mount Sinai, they will head out on the road to face off against Hampton Bays at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
