Even though the Miami Springs Golden Hawks scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Jackson Generals still came out on top. Jackson strolled past Miami Springs with points to spare, taking the game 69-55. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Miami Springs is ranked 770th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordany Fils-Aime out in front who scored 23 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Fils-Aime has scored at least 25% of Jackson's points. Another player making a difference was Jaedan Branton, who scored 17 points.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Miami Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will play host again and welcome TERRA Environmental, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in TERRA Environmental's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Miami Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on JC Bermudez Doral at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024. JC Bermudez Doral knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Miami Springs likes a good challenge.
