The Ironwood Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 49-29 defeat at the hands of South Mountain. Ironwood lost against South Mountain in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-39 score last time.
Leading South Mountain to victory were Bry'ann Wiley and Asia Martin. Wiley dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Martin dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wiley has scored at least 25% of South Mountain's points.
Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for South Mountain, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Ironwood will head out on the road to face off against Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for South Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Pointe comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
