The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Daleville has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while New Brockton will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Friday, Daleville ended up a good deal behind Opp and lost 55-41. Daleville has not had much luck with Opp recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, New Brockton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Pike County 47-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win New Brockton has posted since December 5, 2023.
New Brockton relied on the efforts of Gabriella Eubanks, who scored nine points along with six steals, and Casey Williams, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Aniya Barkley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Daleville bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for New Brockton, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Daleville took a serious blow against New Brockton when the teams last played last Friday, falling 59-22. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Daleville was down 39-7.
