Russell County have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Wayne County at 7:30 PM. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Russell County now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Things haven't been easy for Russell County, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it last Friday as the team lost 35-36 to Rockcastle County. It was a tough break for Russell County, who improved upon an already decent score from two weeks ago but lost both times.
Meanwhile, after flying high against Rockcastle County two weeks ago, Wayne County came back down to earth. Wayne County took a 20-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knox Central. Wayne County's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Russell County took a serious blow against Wayne County the last time the two teams met, falling 8-45. Can Russell County avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
