Given Bishop Neumann's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Vikings are ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Waverly's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reece Bader, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Axmann, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bishop Neumann and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
