The Medford Tech Jaguars posted their closest victory yet this season on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Holy Cross 46-44. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Medford Tech has scored all year.
Medford Tech was led to victory by Tre Powell and Robbie Conyer. Powell scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Conyer scored 18 points. Powell hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nesta Rice, who scored seven points.
Medford Tech is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medford Tech will take on Trenton Catholic Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trenton Catholic Academy comes in on four and Medford Tech on five. As for Holy Cross, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ewing at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Ewing presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holy Cross in New Jersey (Ewing is ranked 83rd, while Holy Cross is ranked 290th).
