Volleyball Recap: Allatoona Comes Up Short

Allatoona managed to slip by Cartersville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Buccaneers lost 3-0 to the Hurricanes on Saturday. The Buccaneers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their offense was headlined by Madi Heard and Ella Glassmeyer, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Lk Lamonica and her 18 assists.

Cartersville was led to victory by Mckenzie Wilkie and Sydney Seigler. Wilkie had ten digs and six aces, while Seigler had nine digs. Wilkie has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Allatoona's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 34-10. As for Cartersville, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 41-6.

Coming up, Allatoona will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jackson at 6:00 p.m. Cartersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
