Jacksonville Christian Academy took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pamlico Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jacksonville Christian Academy lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kellen Evans, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DJ Shiver, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Pamlico Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman James Howard, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Howard hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Max Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacksonville Christian Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fellowship Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Community Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Community Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
