Even though the Advanced Tech Academy Lakers scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, Trillium Academy still came out on top. Trillium Academy walked away with a 76-67 win over Advanced Tech Academy. Given Trillium Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Advanced Tech Academy is ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Sharone Russ, who scored 41 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Stephon Twitty, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Trillium Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Advanced Tech Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trillium Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Center Line Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Center Line Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Trillium Academy likes a good challenge. As for Advanced Tech Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Taylor Prep at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor Prep is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
