Maddox Bass was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Myles Cobb was incredible, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two triples, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Landon Morgan was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Holmes hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
