The McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Vanguard College Prep Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McKinney Christian Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
McKinney Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Brook Hill 65-24. While losing is never fun, McKinney Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1354th, while Brook Hill is ranked 529th).
Despite the loss, McKinney Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Sadie Zbranek scored 13 points. Hannah Massingale was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meanwhile, Vanguard College Prep came up short against Brook Hill on Friday and fell 48-38. Vanguard College Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McKinney Christian Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Vanguard College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
McKinney Christian Academy was taken down by Vanguard College Prep 55-24 in their previous meeting on January 5th. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point McKinney Christian Academy was down 31-8.
