Central Academy is 0-10 against Monroe since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Central Academy Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Monroe Redhawks at 7:30 p.m. Central Academy is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Central Academy came up short against Forest Hills and fell 60-53.
Despite their defeat, Central Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zach Mcdowell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Michael Hoff, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Monroe pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Parkwood by a score of 59-57.
Central Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Central Academy might still be hurting after the 61-36 loss they got from Monroe in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central Academy was down 41-21.
