It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Pee Dee Academy at home to the tune of 42-7. The win was familiar territory for Hilton Head Christian Academy who now have nine in a row.
Dylan Clark continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Tyshon Mansell was another key contributor, picking up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Hilton Head Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 First Baptist School and 3-8 Pee Dee Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.4% over those games). As for Pee Dee Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Hilton Head Christian Academy will face off against Pinewood Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pinewood Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pee Dee Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
