Baseball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Comes Up Short

Northwest Cabarrus blew Robinson out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Robinson got their revenge. The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans fell just short of the Robinson Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since February 29, 2024.

Northwest Cabarrus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Cameron Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Northwest Cabarrus' defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Robinson, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus will challenge Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus is facing Concord at the right time seeing as Concord is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Robinson, they will face off against Mount Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Pleasant's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Robinson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
