It was a good run, but Skyline - Gila River unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Tri-City Christian Academy by a score of 39-36. While losing is never fun, Skyline - Gila River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Tri-City Christian Academy is ranked 48th).
Tri-City Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Allison Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Phillips is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. Lidia Perez-Cardenas was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Skyline - Gila River's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Skyline - Gila River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tri-City Christian Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
