If the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops were riding high off their 43-7 takedown of the Liberty Christian Academy Eagles two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bishop Rosecrans lost to Madison Christian at home by a decisive 44-29 margin on Thursday.
Several Bishops players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Sagan, who scored 12 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Jenkins, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Kiley Wray continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison Christian, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Wray scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Joy Freeman, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Bishop Rosecrans has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Madison Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Bishop Rosecrans will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Madison Christian, they will be playing at home against Ross County Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Ross County Christian Academy: 28.8, Madison Christian: 28.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
