The Hernando Tigers will take on the Purvis Tornadoes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hernando will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Hernando came out on top against South Panola by a score of 8-4.
Olivia Skinner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Hernando let Olivia Higginbotham and Jayla Sites run wild. Higginbotham scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Sites went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Higginbotham has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Macie Dever Boaz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Hernando was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Panola only posted a batting average of .174.
Meanwhile, Purvis entered their match against Picayune on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Purvis fell just short of Picayune by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tornadoes couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jadie Byrd - 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Purvis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooxie Shepherd - 2026, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Purvis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Hernando, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hernando hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Purvis struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
