Basketball Game Preview: Keystone Wildcats vs. North Olmsted Eagles

The Keystone Wildcats will challenge the North Olmsted Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keystone knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully North Olmsted likes a good challenge.

Keystone is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Medina Christian Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Keystone blew Medina Christian Academy out of the water with an 82-32 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Keystone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liam Goran led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Goran's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Zach Shackelfod was another key player, going 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points and six steals.

Keystone was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, North Olmsted lost to Lakewood at home by a 54-39 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while the Rangers are ranked 78th).

Keystone's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for North Olmsted, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
