Given Grand Junction Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Battle Mountain is ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grand Junction Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryland Nostrand, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camren Redding, who scored 15 points along with eight assists.
Grand Junction Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Battle Mountain, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
