The Lafayette Christian Cougars just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Praise Academy Lions at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Lafayette Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Even though Holy Ground Baptist Academy scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Lafayette Christian still came out on top. Lafayette Christian snuck past Holy Ground Baptist Academy with a 62-58 victory.
Bruno Tellez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Zapata, who scored 14 points.
Praise Academy can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Oakwood Christian by a score of 42-33. The win was just what Praise Academy needed coming off of a 76-50 defeat in their prior matchup.
Lafayette Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Praise Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13.
