Sullivan has gone a perfect 10-0 against Eastern Greene recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Arrows will square off against the Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Greene took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sullivan, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Sullivan got the win against Cloverdale by a conclusive 3-0. The Golden Arrows haven't had any issues with the Clovers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Sullivan never let Cloverdale on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 26-24, 25-11.
Meanwhile, Eastern Greene didn't have quite enough to beat Clay City on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Eastern Greene took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13.
Sullivan will need to focus on slowing down Leila Quimby, one of several Eastern Greene players who made an impact when they last played. She had 16 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierington Wyatt, who had seven digs and three aces.
Eastern Greene's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Sullivan, their win bumped their record up to 22-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Sullivan has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Eastern Greene struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Sullivan was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Greene in their previous meeting back in August, winning 2-0. Do the Golden Arrows have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunderbirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
