BALD KNOB, Ark. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Harding Academy (Searcy, Ark.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Wildcats beat Bald Knob (Ark.) 43-6.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter, the Wildcats led 22-0 at the half.
Harding Academy grew its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. HA scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Kohl Blickenstaff.
A big 22-point second quarter helped the Searcy school secure the win. The Wildcats scored on a defensive touchdown, a defensive touchdown and a Blickenstaff touchdown run in the quarter.
Bald Knob's only touchdown came on a 60-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Harding Academy had given up an average of 10.8 points prior to the contest.
HA also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 37-8.
The loss was the third in a row for the Bulldogs.
Bald Knob (1-5) goes up against Episcopal in a 3A Region 2 game matchup next week, while Harding Academy (6-0) locks horns with Riverview also in a 3A Region 2 game.
