The Cocalico Eagles had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 win over Berks Catholic at home. The result was nothing new for Cocalico, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Leading Cocalico to victory were Aaryn Longenecker and P. Dane Horning. Longenecker rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Horning rushed for 201 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Longenecker was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards.
Although Berks Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Connor Pennington and Michael Bradley.
Cocalico's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.2 points. As for Berks Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Cocalico will head out on the road to face off against Conrad Weiser at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Conrad Weiser will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Cocalico is ranked 35th). As for Berks Catholic, they will be playing at home against Eastern Lebanon County on Friday.
