On Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Maury had to settle for a 38-36 defeat against Norfolk Collegiate. Maury has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Commodores players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myla Parker, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Owens, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Maury's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maury will square off against Norview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Norfolk Collegiate, they will head out on the road to face off against Kellam at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kellam focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
