Texas Wind's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Grace Academy by a score of 54-46. This was payback for Texas Wind, who suffered a 50-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Grace Academy saw an underclassman step up: Richmond McIver dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. McIver has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb McGahey, who scored ten points.
Texas Wind pushed their record up to 13-7 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Grace Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texas Wind will face off against Abbott at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Abbott has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three games. Grace Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Providence Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Providence Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
