The Bentworth Bearcats will be playing at home against the California Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bentworth had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 20-12 victory over Carmichaels on Friday.
Bentworth's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Vitali Daniels, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns, and Ben Hays, who gained 129 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, California stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 62-6 victory over Bethlehem Center. The win was nothing new for California as they're now sitting on six straight.
California got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Spencer Petrucci out in front who rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Petrucci is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Layhue, who rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Another reason for the win was California's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Bethlehem Center's QB won't forget Christian Ross anytime soon given Ross sacked him four times.
Bentworth's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for California, their victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Bentworth was taken down by California 61-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Bentworth have more luck at home instead of on the road?
