Basketball Recap: Kendrick Beats Greenville for Their Fifth Straight Victory

While Kendrick didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They strolled past the Greenville Patriots with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 66-51. Winning may never get old, but the Cherokees sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Kendrick got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Spivey out in front who posted nine points and three steals. Spivey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Lott, who put up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Kendrick was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenville only posted four assists.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamarion Stokes, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

Kendrick's record is now 7-1. As for Greenville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Kendrick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 89-65 victory against Pike County on the 10th. As for Greenville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-41 defeat against Elite Scholars Academy on the 10th.
