The Lawrence County Red Devils will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mae Jemison Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. Mae Jemison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lawrence County, who comes in off a win.
Lawrence County can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over Russellville.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alivia Terry, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ava Boyll, who scored 17 points.
Mae Jemison suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Hazel Green on the road and fell 78-33. While losing is never fun, Mae Jemison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Hazel Green is ranked second).
Lawrence County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Mae Jemison, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Lawrence County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mae Jemison in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win.
