Jarrell is 3-0 against Giddings since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jarrell Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Giddings Buffaloes at 6:30 p.m. Jarrell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Jarrell beat Gatesville 48-36. That's two games straight that Jarrell has won by exactly 12 points.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was Taylor's 18th in a row with at least ten points. Lamyre' Fitch was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Giddings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Manor New Tech, posting a 54-14 win at home. That looming 54-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Giddings yet this season.
Jarrell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Giddings, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Jarrell strolled past Giddings in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 51-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jarrell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
