The Central Texas Christian Lions were the 56-39 winner over the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Central Texas Christian took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Round Rock Christian Academy on Friday. Central Texas Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it six in a row.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brynlee Richardson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Caldwell, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Central Texas Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Texas Christian will challenge Holy Trinity Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Trinity Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Reicher Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Reicher Catholic comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
