They pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over Quaker Valley. This was payback for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, who suffered a 79-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Quaker Valley saw an underclassman step up: Sam Chapman scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Washington, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Quaker Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will be playing in front of their home fans against South Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quaker Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Avonworth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Avonworth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quaker Valley in Pennsylvania (Avonworth is ranked 92nd, while Quaker Valley is ranked 240th).
