Last Tuesday, Texline's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 53-46 victory over Wildorado.
Texline got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Clay out in front who scored 11 points. Hayden Drumm was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Hartley suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Adrian on the road and fell 70-41.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Emmanuel Saldivar, who scored eight points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jesus Quevedo, who scored ten points.
Texline's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Hartley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Texline have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Hartley, though, as they've been averaging only 27.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Texline against Hartley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 93-24 victory. With Texline ahead 49-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
