The Palm Beach Central Broncos won the last time they faced the Wellington Wolverines, and things went their way on Friday too. Palm Beach Central simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wellington 43-3 on the road. Given Palm Beach Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Wellington is ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Palm Beach Central to victory were Leon Williams and Zequan Wright. Williams rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while Wright rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Williams was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Palm Beach Central also got help from Waden Charles who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Palm Beach Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Wellington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Palm Beach Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wellington will look to defend their home field on Friday against Seminole Ridge at 6:30 p.m.
